Little Heart K9 is in a place of transition.
Our new name will be Phx K9.
A permanent location to re-open for dog daycare and dog boarding has not been secured yet. In the meantime, I’m doing what I can for the dogs. Recently, I looked at Maricopa County’s available dogs page and the day I looked there were over 70 German Shepherds, Shepherd mixes, and 4 Belgian Malinois available for adoption. This extremely high number of Shepherds in just one shelter is unacceptable. I made a next-morning appointment to meet the two female Malinois’, but both were adopted the evening before.
I contacted Trish at Saving Paws Rescue, a rescue that we fostered for several years ago. SPR dogs came home with us as fosters, for training, for evaluation of potential behavioral issues, or rehab for behavioral issues. These dogs went on to find qualified adopters and a handful became permanent pack members. I visited with Trish at the “dog house” and met a few of her rescue dogs. We agreed Chloe, a one year old, female, Belgian Malinois would be a good fit to come home with me and my boys as a foster dog. I have two male Belgian Malinois dogs, Liam and Vader, both rescue dogs, age 2 years and 4 years. I will spend some time with Chloe, see what she needs to be the very best adoptable Malinois she can be. Hopefully, a suitable adopter can be found for Miss Chloe so that we can help her find her furever home. If you’re interested in meeting or adopting Chloe, it will be done through Saving Paws Rescue: Adoption Form
